Why will hot water, for example, absorb more sugar when the water is heated?

Solubility increases with temperature, the higher the temperature, the more solute can be dissolved in the solvent. As for saturation, the longer you heat, the more water evaporated which makes ur mixture more saturated and also, the more solute u add, the more saturated the mixture. When the solute cannot be dissolved anymore, the mixture has acheived super saturation.

Most solids increase solubility as the temperature goes up. The opposite is true for gases.
As the temperature goes up water can hold more solute, so the saturation point goes up for a solid.
Hot water can dissolve more sugar than cold water.
Hot water holds less oxygen than cold.
The energy of the solution has some to do with it, as well as the separating of the particles, but it also is the nature of the solute and solvent.

No one has really answerd the question as yet. Sugar is not ionic, so the heat has nothing to do with breaking chemical bonds. This woul be partially true if you were talking about salt.

It is actually very straight forward. The water molecules have more energy at hotter temperatures and are spread further apart. There is simply more space for the suger molecules to fit inb between the water molecules and thus be dissolved.

The higher the tempertaure of the solvent, the more energy it has. A hot solvent has more energy with which to break the chemical bonds between component particles in compounds.

This is not true of all compounds however, and an increase/decrease in solubility is dependant upon the thermodynamics of the reaction.

simple. water, when heated, and other things E X S P A N D and the molocules move faster to absorb faster. More room to absorb and faster absortion.

Because the hotter the water is, the faster the sugar will dissolve.
