I have a P4 2.8 HT, 1 GB ram and a 64Mb ATI all in wonder 7500. Plenty of HD space. I'm willing to upgrade the vid card to a Radeon X1600 (agp) and adding another 512mb of ram. Will this improve my pc performance?

I'm a graphic designer and usually work with Corel Draw, Fireworks, Photoshop, Flash, etc. I'm not willing to upgrade the micro or the mobo.

No guessing please.

The additional RAM will improve system performance a bit. There's diminishing return above 1Gb in XP.

The X1600 will improve graphics performance for the apps you indicated.

I'm just an enthusiast w/ 3 laptops, 5 desktops and a UPS backed wireless router, but definitely not guessing.

The video card will absolutely do wonders. You're probably fine with ram, though a bit more couldn't hurt. I'd say definitely on the X1600, as it's a great deal at this time :D

The video card will improve video performance, if you have applications that will benefit from the increased video speed. If all you run is Microsoft Office and a web browser you are probably wasting you money.

If you are running XP, 1GB of RAM is plenty adding more will have no or very little effect. If you are running Vista increase RAM to at least 2 GB.

Deffinatly more ram. Your graphics card is fine for most games like WoW or CoD You need about 4gb of RAM if you want a good gaming experience, just throw another 2gb in :) Lag is nothing to do with your video card its because your pc cant handle it and is running slow trying to, more ram will improve your fps
