It's not getting gas. Fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuse? Likely fuel filter. Check the fuel pressure, should be 62psi. at the schrader valve, if it is port injection. Good luck

Take the battery & freshen up posts, then sluggish can charge over nighttime. Have it load examined for loose at maximum vehicle areas shops. before you flow too some distance after charging sense the facets of the battery, no count if it is "warm" to touch it has an inner short and needs replaced. A charged battery will sense heat, yet shorted that is going to sense warm and the load try would be certain that. If the battery load tests ok, the starter has a solenoid fixed on it that could have rust or dirt interfering with the plunger enticing the starter. next time faucet on the starter gently and spot if it then starts. If definite replace it.

i own a shop and its either the fuel filter stopped up on it or the fuel pump relay or the pump, its just not getting any gas if it will start on either, that right there proves it is in running condition,it just needs gas,but try those things i think it may turn out to be the filter, and they are cheap to replace, good luck with it hope this helps.

You may an intake manifold gasket leak making it suck too much air. When you spray ether in the carb, it makes your air/fuel mixture richer allowing it to start. Try spraying a little along the intake manifold gasket(REMEMBER, ether is very flammable, may want to use wd40 or some thing that is less volitile).
Don't rule out the carb mounting gasket either.
Re-verify that have fuel delivery first.

Low fuel pressure.
Plugged fuel filter, or worn out fuel pump in the fuel tank. (common on GM)
