My good friend just lied to me about the dumbest thing in the world about a week ago. She claimed to go to another friend's house when she went to her bf house. Why she lied about this is beyond me. I have given her 3 times to tell the truth and she didn't so I just now told her that she's a liar and until she can admit to it don't bother dialing my number. What would you have done in this situation?

I have proof of her lie and it's the principle if you lie about something so dumb what else can or have you lied about?

Pesonally, I would just ignore her. Friends who lie are dishonest and unpleasent. It may be time to move on. But if you don't think you should, you should talk to her. Never let her get away with her lieing, it'll do her no good.

Who knows why she lied. Unless she had told someone she was going to be elsewhere & didn't want the truth to be known. BUT, if you're her best friend, she would have known she could confide in you. I'd just beware in the future. If you catch her in any more lies, I'd just tell her you are tired of being hurt by her incosiderate lying to you & hurting your feelings. If she feels she can't trust you & has to lie, she's told you the last lie you're going to listen to from her. You don't need friends like that. Will come a time when you don't know what to believe is true or not. That is not a good trait to form at this age.

She probably felt that she was abandoning you for her boyfriend and she didn't want you to feel the same way and get hurt.
It's really a harmless lie if that's the reason, but it still is a lie.
Call her and say you're sorry for yelling at her and then explain to her that you're not competitive to her boyfriend therefore she doesn't have to lie about being with him instead of you.
Sometimes small things get huge in our heads an we do stupid things such as telling "white lies"...don't let such a little thing destroy your friendship.

Don't be ridiculous. If she lies for something like that, let her lie. As long as the lie does not hurt you, or make you look stupid, you have no right to be angry.

She shouldn't have lied to you, but what would her reasons be to? Do you not like the bf? Did the two of you have plans? There has to be a reason.

who are you, her guardian? relax. if you spaz out about this, you'll go ballistic when she sleeps with your boyfriend. don't sweat the small stuff. maybe she wen't over there to plan something for you. some type of surprise. maybe something else. what do you care? get hobby and stop worrying where your friend goes... unless it's a crackhouse... then get mad.

Tell your friend you completely went off the handle and you're sorry for yelling at her. Also forgive her, and ask her to forgive you.
