What are some creative Mother's Day ideas? What have you done in the past?

I want to do something nice for my mother, but I would like it to be creative, not just roses or chocolate or something like that. Thank you for your ideas, and if you have any stories of some creative things you did for your mom, I would love to hear them! Thank you!

I made her a sort of scrapbook page with the pictures of all her kids. There's 3 of us, so there were 3 pics, each one with one of us and her. Then a paragraph saying how thankful we are of her. and other various pics of her favorite flower and other things she loves. She loved it, and framed it.

Also, one time, instead of giving the flowers to her personally, i had them sent to her, with a note. That way its much more unexpected.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

You want to be creative but what your Mom probably would like would be for you to spend time with her. Even if its doing something that you don't particularly like to do. Most Moms that I have talked to say this is the number one "thing" they want. In todays world, most parents and children do not spend enough time together. Take it from one who knows, your parents won't always be there for you....

Ever since i was in like 3rd grade me an my older sister stayed up really late at night the day before mother's day an cleaned up the house. an set out a Coffee cup with a Happy Mothers day note from us next to it an said we luved her. it worked but we stopped doing that wen i got into 7th grade. but she luved it an it didnt cost any money lol.

Make a compliation tape or CD with songs about mother, such as "I'll Always Love My Mama" and "M-O-T-H-E-R". You could also make a compliation tape or CD of songs with her name in it.

One year I had s really nice gift basket sent to her work. She was really surprised and her co-workers were very envious.
