Rival communities have been the Sharks (puertorricans or newyorricans(puertorricans born or raised at enormous apple)) vs the Jets (white-individuals). In some places I easily have got here across the Jets defined with a polish-american history vs italo-american history in others; probable simply by ameliorations in the musical vs the action picture. From the place the rivarly got here? White Jets long term prevalent at enormous apple rejecting the newcommers puertorricans which extra suitable their numbers at US for the duration of the decade of the 50's and after.

i feel pretty! oh so pretty!!!!!!
i love west side story!
i have not seen it in a while though. the 'modern' version of romeo and juliet. i prefer romeo and juliet. more traditional. and there are several differences between romeo and juliet and west side story. including the ending...but it was a really good movie. so romantic. *sighs happily* :)

No, I actually hate it. I know its one of the greatest musicals ever created, etc, but I just can't get into stuff like that. I like the idea of 2 gangs who hold a huge grudge between each other, but not 2 gangs who hold a huge grudge between each other and dance around like fairies with box cutters. That story is just too wishy-washy for my tastes. I prefer harder-edged characters and some actual real fighting without the corny frolicking through the ghetto.

I love that movie, I'm Italian and Puerto Rican so I kind fit into the Jets and the Sharks.

Yes. My mom loved to watch musicals and they just kind of stuck with me. I've always enjoyed them.

No. (I've seen it like three times- once in my homeroom class when a teacher showed it, once in a drama class, and once when there was nothing else on TV. I just don't like it.) ;-D
