At the Nursing Home I just left, the nurses are held responsible for things they shouldn't be held responsible for. Their hours are cut, then they are asked to work 12 hours days. Most of the time they are on their feet, with few breaks. They are required to purchase their own uniforms, and it has to be what the company wants them to wear. Most of the nurses have become cold and unfeeling towards the residents.

Because the hours a crappy, the hours are long, nurses are usually treated poorly by doctors, and they have to work holidays....that is just for starters. Liability for mistakes and high cost of college, too.
