A couple of times when younger. Both were bad experiences. They um and err... then spiel off a load of info that is only of use to a local... and you pretend you've taken it all in... but you only remember what they said for the very first part.
Also you have a high chance of asking someone who proves to be a "mad-woman" and wants to carry on talking for talkings sake, or someone who has a heavy accent you can't grasp imo.

Look here, that is a total violation of the "man code" but since I have an absolutely worthless sense of direction more than 90 miles from home I bought GPS system..
That isn't cheating is it? Nahh... it's a manly system.
