We have set up a marine tank with live coral and rock. Initially 2 chromis and a tang. Introduced an algae sucker and two more. Changing water every weekend because of algae growth. Took sample to aquarium, did what we were told...nitrate and nitrite is correct. One chromis died during week - did anothewr water change and dipped them all in fresh water for 20 seconds as per instruction from aquarium. Found clown fish dead this morning (awww)....other 3 are not feeding as usual, very slow, lethargic...what to do, can anyone help?

Regards Vikki

Not really a lot to go on. Have you checked the ammonia, pH, and salinity as well? Actual results would be helpful, for these an nitrite and nitrates. Ammonia and nitrite should both be =0, nitrate should be less than 30, pH 8.2-8.4, salinity 1.024-1.026, temperature 76-80o.

With the amount of algae growth, you would need to have some amount of nitrate and phosphate (plant nutrients) for it to grow, although it could be absorbing as much as are available.

Other than lethargy, are you noticing any other symptoms (dull color, thick slime coat, spots, heavy respiration) or marks on the fish that have died?

Do you use a protein skimmer or powerheads to circulate water/add dissolved oxygen? If the fish are gasping, low oxygen might be a cause. Also, parasites that would affect the gills.

I'm going to attach a link of some marine fish conditions you can look through, since you are able to see what's going on with your fish and we can't. Maybe this will help you figure out what's happening (treatment recommendations are included): http://home2.pacific.net.ph/~sweetyummy42/disease.html

Look for physical trauma on your fish something may be in your live rock killing them like a mantis shrimp.
