sand/bead blasting is the only effective way. Ok if solid bricks, not ideal if facing bricks.

Well, you kinda made a mess, but if you really want to get the paint off, you need to blast it off. You can have it professionally done, or get the supplies you need at some hardware or paint stores. Glass bead or walnut shell will remove the paint while not destroying the brick. If you use paint remover, you will soften the paint and actually make it go deeper into the pores of the mortar and brick. Other than that, there is only one answer , re-paint it. This is the second question I have answered with this problem...I can only hope the wall is outside as media blasting makes a real mess!

Good luck!
A pressure washer would be your best bet with the stripper attachment put on the end of the wand, but you have to know what you are doing as you could ruin the brick work or break it apart. I would call a professional painter and describe the sitution to them and see if they could strip it for you. The first question you should ask is if they are insured. I work in a hardware store that has a lot of paint business and we know a lot of the painters that come in and if they are any good or not, so I would suggest trying a hardware store that does a lot of paint business (especially in one of the premium brands such as Benjamin Moore) since they will know what kind of work most of them do as well.

sorry daisy but you will really struggle ..this paint was meant to stay on ..and it does ..you could try brick acid ..but it may damaged the brick face ..you could sand blast it or pressure wash it but the results will be the same ..you will damage the face ..try wetting the warily well and then try a steamer and a wire brush ..do a couple of square feet at a time wetting down all the time ..the important thing is to keep it soaked ..
