Scientific researchers have shown that being gay is based on biological and genetic factors.

Even the ultra conservative president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has said that scientific research "points to some level of biological causation" for homosexuality & "I am absolutely confident that a large number of homosexuals are telling the truth when they say they did not choose that orientation."

An October 2004 scientific research publication stated that scientists at the University of Padua have found that women tend to have more children when they inherit the same genetic factors linked to homosexuality in men. This fertility boost more than compensates for the lack of offspring fathered by gay men, and keeps the “gay” genetic factors in circulation.

Another study published in Human Genetics in February 2006 examined X chromosome inactivation in mothers of gay sons and mothers whose sons were not gay. Researchers found extreme differences between women who had gay sons and women who did not.

A Canadian university study published in June of 2006 stated that, although researchers have known for years that a man's likelihood of being gay rises with the number of older biological brothers, that the new study found that the so-called "fraternal birth order effect" persists even if gay men were raised away from their biological families.

Well it's unknown if it's genetic, but it happens pre-birth.

Society has nothing to do with it, because if it did, you wouldn't see it all over the world.

Society and the freedoms we have in it do denote the level of honesty we have. If the society is accepting of differences, then we can be free to be ourselves, if it is not, then we live closeted lives without telling people.

So society only has an impact when it comes to honesty on the issue, but it's pervasive through every society and culture on the planet, so it can only be something that is naturally occurring, because to say that we all share a common society isn't logical.

Human beings are made of body, mind, and spirit.
Most human conditions exist on all three levels.
We know a person can have both male and female genitalia. So there is obviously the possibility of the physical factor.
There are two opposing aspects in the Lifeforce we call masculine and feminine. These also affect human behavior.
And I never win any popularity contests with this. But I imagine most homosexuality is based on a dislike for the opposite sex. But one still wants to experience their sexuality, so they go to their own. Nevertheless, they still have to deal with personality conflict, infidelity, and the whole 9 yards!

It's totally societal and exposure can begin from the home first, normally. Ever noticed how kids don't care about who is poor, rich, popular, unpopular, race, etc.?? They just want someone to play cars/dolls with.

Biggotry isn't genetic.

Two Spirits "Winktayes", are born that way. Just have wrong body parts. Although some people choose to be bisexual and so forth. In many cultures Winktayes are considered sacred......... But yes, it is genetic. I am not gay or bi but respect folks for who they are, not their sexual orientation.......

it is chosen much like when people choose to kill, steal, lie, cuss, do drugs, etc etc etc.... of course you will get a denial in that fact. Why do people do these things that give them many problems? People make bad choices because they love to do these things even if they are bad. I mean really!! If this was natural would anybody be born?

I am not one, but what I've learned thus far, is that it is not chosen, but one is born to prefer those of the same sex.
And I've heard a major complaint by homosexuals(not sure if that is P.C.?) is, why would they CHOOSE to be that way, when it makes their life even more difficult?
