I guess I don't think very many women would let their husbands make that kind of decision for them.

Obviously there are a lot of puzzywhipped men here; maybe they will grow some balls some day and be men. Yes I ALLOW my wife to go out and work, but not to interact with male coworkers. Also, she has to be home by 4:30 on the dot or she gets 5 lashes with the belt.

My husband and I talked for quite a while and decided I would be at home with the kids as they grew up while he worked (We are lucky he makes enough money to make this a viable option)...

He never dictated to me that aI would work or stay home.. We talked about the pros and cons and decided having me at home to care for the children, be there when they got off school, etc. was what we wanted..

I may go back to work after our youngest (now 9) graduates from High School.. But I may not because within a couple years of her graduation my husband will be eligible to retire (at age 42) and we intend to do some traveling..

When my husband and I first married I intended to get a job (I moved to follow his job so I quit my previous job) then we found out I was expecting (our 3rd) and we decided we could afford for me not to work....

I have always wanted to be a stay at home mom (not an option with the first 2 because of divorce etc.) With my 3rd (and last) it's been wonderful I have been there for every milestone , I have been able to go to field trips and volunteer at her school.. I have been able to enjoy portions of her life that I missed out on with the other 2..

My sister never wanted to be a stay at home mom, she doesn't have the temperment for it.. and that's ok to each thier own..

allow? I think the man better recognize we aren't living in the 1950's and let the woman do what she wants. If she wants to stay at home, and the man can provide enough money to support the family, and if she wants to stay home, I would say that would be fine. But the majority of families have to have both man and woman work to pay the bills.

ALLOW? what kind of question is that? No one ALLOWS a woman to do something---married or NOT... any more then anyone allows a MAN to do something---if they want to do something they just DO it....... if you feel someone has to control the other in a relationship, then you aren't going to have too many good, solid relationships as you get older..

don't believe that it is the man's decision to make. Whatever makes the woman happy. And as far as allowing my wife - I wasn't aware that I am her boss so I didn't know it was up to me to Allow her or to not allow her to do anything.

I would let that be her decision to make, unless you have a very expensive life style and it takes two incomes, and also it is nice not to have to work, but you really need something paid in for retirement for yourself just in case your marriage doesn't work out later on in years .

Yes, it's her choice. I would like her to be home but it's her choice.
