There are real forces at work in Creation. Magnetic.
It is commonly believed that when the Moon is waxing, going from New to Full. Is the time to ask for things to come into your Life. And when it is waning, from Full to New. Is the time to ask for things to get out of your Life, like an addiction.
I'm sure if science took a logical approach to this. They would see it has something to do with the magnetic pull between the Earth and Moon. As when it is waning it gets closer to Earth. And when it is Full, it is the farthest away from Earth.
The key to Wisdom is common sense.

It's all in your mind. When the moon is full and you go outside on a clear night, everything looks weird because it's lit up, but there's no color.
Think about this -- the moon is ALWAYS out there. If it had any effect, you'd be lucky all the time.

To me, it's both. It's the Earth's satellite, an astronomical body of set size and measure. But it's also the symbol of the Goddess in Wicca, and I worship and work magic in accordance with its phases.
(For the record, in Wiccan practice the full moon IS considered a good time to work luck magic and to celebrate the good fortune that has been fulfilled in our lives. :-))

The ancient Romans use to believe when the moon was full, you would go insane. They use to call the moon Luna. Which the word, "LUNAtic" comes from.
I believe the moon does something phycholoigcally to humans. And I believe full moon, blue moons, half moons, quarter moons, etc... each do something differently.
