Is there any recourse through the court system to expose these folks?

Say..."You're Fired"....now post crap about them on your blog.
If you paid them, sue them for misrepresentation or malpractice.

if you don't want him representing you, send him a letter saying so. do a google search on "attorney discipline" and (your state). in some states the bar association is responsible for investigating complaints against attys but in other states it's an arm of the court system. also, if he stole your money, most states have a lawyers fund for client protection where you can apply for reimbursement.

If you hired the lawyer, you have the right to fire the lawyer. You also can refer the lawyer to the bar association if you believe the lawyer has acted unethically. You can sue the lawyer for malpractice if the inadequate representation has harmed you financially.

If the lawyer was court-appointed for you, you cannot fire the attorney. You are not entitled to appointed counsel of your own choosing. But you can bring the matter to the court's attention and request substitute counsel.

What can you do ? according to me nothing . Layers get their money and they done if you're convicted or not is secondary.
