I have recently purchased a house in Saskatoon, saskatchewan. After moving in i was told by neighbors that the house had previously been flooded and that everything had been covered up to make it look like there was no flood. I have noticed small amounts of black mold.

The sale should have never happened without you being told. Owners don't have to tell you about every little thing and they can't be held responsible for things they don't know about, but I don't think a flood falls into either catagory.
I would find a realestate lawyer and have a discussion with him. It shouldn't cost you any money to sue. They will end up paying the legal fees for you.

This information was not disclosed to you by the previous owners? I would contact your Realtor immediately then (and possibly your lawyer). I believe that with major issues like that, they HAVE TO disclose it to you as part of the sales agreements, etc..

I am not 100% sure of that, but I believe that is the case. I would most definitely contact your Realtor at the very least, because they could tell you if that is the law.. I know it is in some places.. And if it is the law.. then I would think that those people should be liable to have some things repaired at least (such as the mold).

Definitely get going on it immediately though so that no one can suggest that you waited too long or anything.
