I thought every guy wished he were a practicing polygamist.

Why? Last time I checked the Moslim faith was one that prcticed peace, based on the teachings af Mohammed.
Mitt Romney's faith allowed that in those times, and last I heard he had only 1 wife.
There was a time when a Catholic couldn't get elected, until JFK. If we are indeed a country that practices freedom of Religion, and the right to worship or to not worship, those have to be more than words, they must be actions.
Celebrate the differences we have, try not to label. I believe my Dad said that was "Contempt Prior to Investigation".
Most all of us want peace and a decent wage and a decent place to raise our kids. Do not label an entire Religion based on the horrific acts of a few extremists that do not even follow the teachings of their own Religion.
Long story short, I will vote for who I think will represent America the best, and leave the other debate to others.

Being a Muslim and descendants who are polygamists could affect the decisions of the voters vis-a-vis a candidate because many Americans are Christians that adhere to natural law.

VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know if Obama and Romney will likely win.

no it doesn't.
who your family is and who you are can be very different.

my grandparents were laborers with only a high school education (at the most, I think my grandma didn't get finish that).
does that make my family ignorant? a little

does it make them stupid?
no, my grampa was a factory worker and in the union. he didn't need education above grade 12 to make a good living. my grandmother did a few jobs including answering phones. she was qualified and my 7 aunts/uncles and mother did just fine

does this effect me? no, I'm going to school past high school because I need to. I know more than my grandparents because I have to learn more to survive and succeed in life.

it doesn't matter. really it doesn't

No it should not matter. I had ancestors who were on the Confederate side in the Civil War. I disagree with their cause and beliefs but that doesn't make me one of them. I am proud of my ancestory as anyone should be but that doesn't mean that as times change that people can't change or that what my great great great grandfather was responsible for. Neither are they. People should be judged on their own merit not the merit, beliefs and accomplishments or failures of their ancestors including parents.

Why don't you go all the way back to Adam and Eve?

You didn't seem to mind that Bush's grandfather financed Hitler and the US government finally seized his property.

Many Mormon's practiced polygamy when they got to what is now known as Utah! Most was because during the trek many of the men died, leaving a lot of mouths to feed. It is against the law to practice polygamy in Utah, both state and Mormon!

I don't like Romney anyway, and I especially don't care for the Senator from Utah!

Obama has a lot to answer for both his views on the Muslim faith and for his own church which has some highly racist bigoted policies. Romney has nothing to answer for. He didn't even know his great grandparents.

I guess the easy answer is that polygamists are probably just as dangerous as a Muslims. They aren't.

What if one was a descendant of slave owners - that has been a sticking point for southern candidates in the past.

Naughty Obama?

EDIT:
"Last time I checked the Moslim faith was one that prcticed peace" (from another poster)

No.

It didn't matter that Bush's Grandpa Prescott Bush had his bank seized by the US Government after WW2 as a Hitler business partner so no.....Reps have no moral right to question Obama's Grandpa either.

You can't have it both ways Sparky.

So...STFU.
