do you feel comfortable when people know what books you read?
i don't, well i read normal books just like the one you guys read (i'm not telling you what i'm reading), but i just don't feel comfortable leting other know what i'm reading, it feels uncomfortably transperent.
thats one reason make me use e-books only.
do you know why?
i'm i weird?
and how about you?

I'm a Stephen King fan, my self...do I mind if others know that? Why should I? " Read any good books lately?" is a good conversation starter.... Just finished "The girl who loved Tom Gordon".... I'm not concerned if people will think I'm weird if I am a Stephen King fan, everyone that really knows me at all already *knows* that I am weird, for oh so many other reasons! LOL

How often do people ask you what book you are reading? On an airplane people would see, or maybe on a bus, but who cares?
It's natural for you to want to maintain your privacy, but it's also healthy to show a little bit of yourself to the world now and then. Even when you buy an e-book, someone is taking note of the transaction somewhere. I seriously doubt that anybody cares what book, magazine, or newspaper you are reading. You have the freedom to do whatever you want, and feel comfortable doing it, as long as you don't hurt anyone in the process. Otherwise, life's not much fun, is it?

I dont like when people know what I read either. But I work at a library so whatever I check out and put on hold my coworkers know it! I like to read erotica (I'm not a perv but I think it is interesting) and I read a lot of psychology books (I have an associates degree in psychology).

LOL, no one has ever asked me what I read or what books I am currently reading. HeII, it is rare to see anyone read anymore! I love to read, and I wish more people did, too.
But anyway, I can't see why you wouldn't want to share what you are reading. But, that is you. That is your choice. You are under no obligation to tell anyone what types of books tickle your fancy. Just simply say the genre (if you wanted) or just say you haven't read anything lately and change the subject.
