u should probably get a fill every 10 days-2 weeks, otherwise they will grow out too much & u will be able to see the natural nail, there will be a gap between the acrylic & your cuticle...um, i do everything with mine...& they don`t usually fall off, unless they weren`t done properly...

Let me inform you hunny,Listen to me when you had the nails put on your nail tech should have had a conference with you I am a licensed nail tech for 13 years and it drives me crazy when the customer is not informed right off the bat, I am betting you went to an Asian salon? You know where every person working there is ASIAN you know those types... you walk in, they say can I help you,you say I would like a set of nails, they instantly go to work on you, fileing your nail beds with those electrict drills till your finger is burning and then plop on a nail tip and cut it straight across, not asking you if you have any alergies to acrylic,or nail glue or asking if you have ever worn nails before, or reccomend the shape you might want to use according to your hand shape.
In any event I hope you did not, those Asian places use something in their products called Methol methocrylate>>>IT IS A DENTAL BONDING AGENT"!!! the Dentist use it!!! so don't go there! its bad for your nails you cannot soak the product off they have to use an electrict drill to file it off! (ever wonder why they use those mask??????).and you might want to tell anyone to TAKE A HIKE if you get a fungus under your nail and they say its ok we can still keep your nail on or put another one on it>>>>WRONG!!!! Don't let anyone tell you it's ok to keep your nail covered...it's not you can get sever nail damage if you do, and have to take Medication perscribe by a Dr for A long time.NOW THAT I HAVE SCARED YOU TO DEATH LOL please read futher
how long do they stay on? that depends on how well you wear them like getting them in cleaning agents without wearing gloves, oily greasy products..this causes them to lift you can wear them all the way till your own nails grow out as long as you like be sure you keep you nail fill (or balance) appointment how ever often your nail tech reccomends,I allways scheduled every 2 weeks for my clients unless they were extreemly hard on their nails then they came in when they knew they needed to and you will too.
you can do just about anything with them on don't be afraid to use hand lotions or cutical oils their good for them, the only time it hurts when they fall off is when you break one across the nail bed or rip it off by slipping the tip off the nail accidently across something, I have worn the acrylics for 13 years and love them, don't be scared by what I have just informed you about but my advise to you is wear them a month or 2 and take them off for a few weeks then bput them back on if you like .. if you have any questions please e-mail me at cops_wife07@yahoo.com and I will help you any way I can good luck

to answer your question more, the length of time they stay on highly depends on a few things like what you get your hands into like cleaning supplys, greasy things water youmight want to use rubber gloves when washing dishes
