how do i research what my hard drive can handle and how do i flash it to an 8x agp... if not oh well?

any help is appreciated.. i know the card in it is a 4x agp card.. its a dell optiplex gx420... i paid dirt for the comp.. runs great though... 1.5gz 1 gig of ram.... on the last question i asked someone stated i could reflash the bios to be 8x compatible... im not comp illeterate so i can learn if its possible. but when i install the gx 5500 card the tower starts up... but the moniter does not come on... the light just stays in stand by.... as last any help is greatly appreciated the vid card was a present so no big loss... just would be nice to use..

You cant flash AGP from 4x to 8x, they are hardware locked just like USB1.1 to USB2

You cant flash Video specs, that is hardware !!
