Explorer 5 will not download any sites although I know I am connected to the web. I need it in order to use my connection. I use windows 98 and do not have the software any longer to reload the explorer. Anyone have any idea how to fix this so I can use the explorer?

I don't know if you can find what you are looking for but this site has older versions of various software. You would have to copy it from another computer if you can't get on the internet at all.

Visit http://www.microsoft.com and HOPE that it comes up.
On the RIGHT SIDE, look for Downloads & Trials CLICK on it.
Then CLICK on Download Center
Scroll down a bit, and look for Internet Explorer 6.
Then get Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1

Download this, then start installing. It's going to take a while, since the initial download get gets a download program going. It's 77.5 MB so for DIAL-UP it will take a long while. (1 hour 35 minutes)

Good luck and Happy Computing!

I'd say it's time to upgrade your OS if your computer supports it. It's well worth it. Not only for explorer but for important security updates.

if ypu've upgraded recently to 5 and added some software there might be conflicting issues, roll back to earlier IE and see if that works.
no guarantees mate, good luck.
By the way if you can upgrade to 6 go for it
