They go to their food bowl and eat. Contrary to what I have heard about feeding dogs x amount only once per day, I have always kept food in their bowls. I've never had an overweight dog or one that eats until they barf.

I have a pet velociraptor and I usually know it's hungry when the neighbourhood cats start to go missing mwahahhaa!

My guinea pigs are ALWAYS hungry. As soon as they hear the fridge door open or a carrier bag rustle they squeak really loudly calling out for food. Needless to say they are fat piggies but lovely all the same :-)

Tara, my dog, is very polite... and there's no indication she is hungry..... but whatever food you place in front of her will be inhaled at record speed. My cats will follow me into the kitchen and howl until they are fed, and if they are very hungry they will go to wherever I am and howl. My chickens follow me everywhere in the hope of food, and my homeless pigeon hops onto the gate where I have tied his seed dish and looks soulfully at me.

I feed my pets every day
but...
my bunny will run up to her cage if she sees us and is hungry
my cat will meow constantly until we give her food (she's on a diet so it can get annoying)

wags tails (that's the goldfish as I walk by the aquarium)
and the squirrels chew on the plastic container where we keep the sunflower seeds on the back porch.

we have snakes... they will flick their tongues a lot to smell food (mice) or try to get out of their tanks...
we keep them on a feeding schedule so they dont power eat... so they stay full they majority of the time
