I really like fantasy and fiction because they don't HAVE to be real, they play up your imagination.

That's hard.... probably a good old mystery novel... even though you know the killer is going to attempt to off the hero/ heroine before the end of the book.

mostly novels geared at the teenage audience I'm currently reading each book in the series "The Chronicles of Narnia"

i most prefer sci-fi, especially that dealing with cultures from different planets throughout the universe. i find the writers' imagination in creating such things most
intriguing.
i also read a lot of 'classic' American authors, as well as dabbling with the most famous Russians, such as Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky (sp?)
