What type do you have and/or do you recommend? Which do you think is the best for internet use with a combination of PC's and MACs? We need to be able to access live feeds and streaming video.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
:)

If you already have a wired router, you don't need a wireless router... just a Wireless Access Point. A little cheaper and you won't have to throw-away your old wired router.

Of late, my current choice is Netgear stuff. My Netgear WG602 has been doing a pretty good job for me.

Stay away from Belkin and older Linksys stuff. They are garbage.

Good Luck,

avert Belkin, as they're generally infamous to establish. Netgear, Linksys are the two solid manufacturers. There are 2 sorts of router so which you would be able to desire to be careful. One is the cable router for Virgin etc. the different is ADSL router for BT, Sky etc, and others that use the telephone line as adversarial to a cable connection.

Multiple OS platforms can be handled by just about every router so you dont have to worry about that.

If you want to stream video and music, especially on multiple computers at the same time, I would suggest the 802.11n routers and wireless adapters.

I like to use D-Link myself so I will suggest the following devices.

PCMCIA for laptops: http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=1&pid=532
PCI for Desktops: http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=1&pid=531

for DSL, I use the Netgear DG834G, stable and small/smart, on one ADSL line for 2 months without a hiccup.

for Cablemodem, I have a few from Belkin to Netgear, they all seem to work fine, but Netgear would be my choice.

They all support WPA and with netgear, if teh signal is not powerful enough, you can use external antennas to boost the range.

Stay away from cheap, you will save money in the long run. I would say D-Link would be a good router.
