The truly funny thing is, if you step back and look at both of the main parties. You will notice that both of them are guilty of the very same things. Both will belittle you for having different opinions and god for bid if your an idependent thinker. They all feel that you must take one side or the other. If you don't then your an outcast. In which case they will both dump on you. There is always so much finger pointing going on. That it distracts us from (they hope) seeing that they are not doing their jobs. Do not allow yourself to be lead around by your nose.(by any political party) We must demand more from all the politicians ''We The People" elect to office. We need to push for term limits for all of them. So they worry more about getting the job done, then getting re-elected. For untill "We The People'' remind the politicians that it is they, who work of us and not us who serves them. They (the politicians) will continue to ignore us, belittle us and treat us like we are here to serve them.

While I will agree with you that Republican politicians clash with individuals of different mindsets, you can't generalize all republicans (aka citizens) as being the same.

If you actually looked deeper into the idea of political parties and examine the ideological beliefs of people in different areas, you will see that Republicans and Democrats aren't so different.

For example, the issue of pro abortion is at times mistaken as Democrat ideal, while Republicans are seen as against it. Well it depends what region of the country you are from. Many times a Republican from the north will be pro-choice while a Democrat from the South will be pro-life.

So to generalize it as "all republicans", is a mistake because many democrats too are ignorant in their perspective as well.

I'm a Political Science major and we discuss these different political attitudes and behavior people have. It's really based on where there from, not their political party.

Democrats: quite often liberal (choose substitute, shifting forward) Republicans: quite often conservative (the previous procedures are suited, keep traditions) Abortion: Democrats (Freedom of decision) Republicans (precise to existence) Prayer in colleges: Democrats (Oppose) Republicans (choose) criminal coverage: Democrats (shelter rights of all criminals) Republicans: (don't be comfortable on criminals) Democrats are many times on the "left" of the political spectrum, Republicans on the "precise" no longer lots an opinion, yet Democratic image is the donkey, Republican is the elephant

Dear Ms BRE -

I am not a Republican but I do know a bunch of them - and know them pretty well. Not one that I know believes that all folks should have the same political opinions as do they. The extremes of BOTH parties yell and whoop and holler when they see or hear something that goes across the grain for them. I have seen my friends called terrible names by extremist liberals/Democrats but that doesn't make ALL Democrats obnoxious. When you hear 'em yelling ,BRE, or when they belittle someone, turn away - they aren't carrying serious thoughts anywhere on their bodies. Good Luck!

Here's the most truthful answer you will get.

In the Declaration of Independence, there is the phrase, "We hold these truths to be self-evident". As a Republican, I can tell you this is how we think. Most issues to us are not shades of gray. We have a clearly defined philosphy. To us, the solutions are always "self-evident".

For example, if schools are not teaching our children properly, then the answer is obvious: either the school improves its teaching methods or it will cease to receive Federal funding. Sure, you have a lot of whiny teachers complaining, but the system appears to work.

If our country is under attack, it is better to keep the enemy trapped in his own territory rather than give him the breathing room he needs to launch an attack on U.S. soil.

Pretty simple, right? Not for Liberals. They don't seem to understand these very basic concepts.

Liberals are the ultimate in belittling people with opposing views! If you aren't in line with the liberal view, you are a close minded, intolerant, racist, non-progressive bigot!

That goes both ways. I have seen many liberals and Democrats on this site alone who bash Republicans and their opinions. You can look on one side of the fence, but if you turn around you will see the same thing...BTW, I'm a liberal.

its not a different opinion, its counteracting the same tired philosophy. we restate the same reasoning over and over and over and for some reason the liberals just dont get it.

character matters
i know what is...is
lying to a federal grand jury, regardless of subject should be punishable by JAIL TIME not a slap on the wrist

the following were crimes, NOT lapses in judgement and would they have been republican offenses the handling wouldve been much much different.

- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance
- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates*
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First president accused of rape.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- First president to be held in contempt of court
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad
- First president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court
i think you get my drift. again its not political opinion, its philosophy, its easy to confuse the two but infact they are miles and miles apart
