and they just say first class with no amount on the actual stamp can I still use them after they go up to $.41?

Yes, but you'll have to add an additional $.02 of postage. The post office knows how much they're worth.

no you will have to buy some 2 cent stamps to go with the 39 cent stamp

Dream on, but don't stamps with no amount bug you. Numerious times found myself wondering if stamps were old or new ones.
