I agree with balderarrow.
The Avs fans and Devils fans might disagree with you.
They were just as dominant as the Wings.
The Devils won the Cup in 1995, '96 it was the Avs, '97 and '98 it was the Wings.
2000 it was the Devils , 2001 it was the Avs then in 2002 it was the Wings.
So I would say you have three dominant teams.
But this year the Avs didn't even make it to the playoffs. The Devils could be eliminated this evening.
So if the Wings win the Cup this year I say YES!!!! They are the best!!
Go Wings!

Yeah...watchout for those Sabre fans...who will try to explain that making the playoffs TWO straight years makes them the best lol.
But I got to agree with you on that...they have had the best team for the longest time...the Devils were good, but you pull Broduer out and the team falls apart...They're like the Yankees of hockey, they will always be near the top and its always a safe bet that they'll make the playoffs.
I think any hockey fan who is able to look past their own biases would have to put the Wings up their on their list of greatest teams

I think so, it has to either be them or the Devils. The Sabres and a few other teams have been good but havn't backed it up by winning the cup

Definately ... all we really lacked in previous years was consistancy in the playoffs. For Example, Round 1 Exits when we won the presidents trophy that season. We would choke. Looks like we are shaping up well though.

i would say they are up there. but remember they didn't win the presidents trouphy (thank god) so buffalo is a good team too. but i can't see the Sharks coming back to take detorit out the momentum is to much in favor of detroit at this point. Detroit and Anaheim should be a good match up. especially if Detroit can get Kronwall and Lebda back.
GO WINGS

Although I absolutley hate the Wings becuase I feel prior to the lockout they bought their talent....
I do have to say they have been consisently one of the best teams since the early 90's.

Yeah, I think you could make that claim, although Colorado and New Jersey fans might have something to say.

stats speak for themselves.
they are the best.
don't even start w/ Yankee analogies and buying players. that would be for colorado. the wings have farmed and traded for skill. cuz their owner (illitch) and GM (Holland) actually cares about winning and is committed to it.
