I have the following on my notice board - sorry can't remember where I found it:
"It's not the amount of breaths you take in a moment, but the amount of moments that take your breath away"
What's pinned to your notice board to inspire you?

It's impossible to count the words of wisdom given by the genius that is Monty Python!
"Always look on the bright side of life dee-do dee-do, dee-do......."

It's nice to be important; but it's more important to be nice.

"Even if you are on the right track, you'll get ran over if you just sit there." ~ Will Rogers

To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care about them.

If you insist on measuring something, measure your heart instead of your waist.

"It is not the goal but the way there that matters, and the harder the way the more worthwhile the journey." ~ Wilfred Thesiger

"Some people are born great, while others have greatness thrusted upon them" ~ Teddy Roosevelt

Never get so busy making a living, that you forget to make a life.

When one door shuts, another one opens. But so often we look at the shut one we fail to see the opened one.

No one can make you feel inferior with out your consent.

You can't make foot prints in the sand of time if you are sitting on your butt.

Live your life for what its' worth, here and now. The past is the past, we can never change that, but we can make our future a better place.Things happen for a reason, doesn't mean we understand it, or even like it. Things happen the way they do for a reason. All we can do is treasure our loves for the positive moments in it, and just be the best we can.

My Uncle once told me this one too:

In everyone's head is a set of tape players, one for positive, and one for negative. Now most people turn down the positive tape player, and turn up the negative tape player. Learn to turn the positive one up and the negative down.

A societal outcast, to be forgotten at death, those people are the ones with faces. An appraised by society, the world mourns at death, they are the ones with a million masks.
That was written by me.

The world doesn’t stop for me, or for anyone else, but, in the same way I do not stop for it, although most people do.
So was that.

Identity constricts true expression.
So was that. I have a million of them.

"It is better to remain silent and be thought of as a fool, then to speak and remove all doubt."
That wasn't. I think it's by Albert Einstein.

I have printed out the lyrics of a song by Eric Idle of Monty Python from "The Meaning of Life"

It starts with: ... Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's revolving...
and end with: ...and just pray that there's intelligent life somewhere out there, because there's bugger here on earth."

My favorite words of wisdom are, "The difference between a rut and a grave is that a grave had walls on four side, a rut has walls only on the sides.
Think about this for a while.

"The Serenity Prayer:

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can & the wisdom to know the difference."
Some things in life you can control/change, so do it. Other things you can't control or change so don't bother worrying about them. I can control how tidy my house is. I can control how I feel & react to situations. I can't control the weather, other drivers, death etc. So there you are. Wise words to live by.

Also I liked this quote & kept it and have tried to live by it:
"Treating myself like a precious object will make me strong."
That includes bubble baths by candlelight, taking care of myself, doing things I enjoy, being kind to myself. It really works.

Cheers.

Among many:

To suffer woes which hope thinks infinite
To forgive wrongs darker than death or night
To defy power which seems omnipotent
Neither to change, nor falter, nor repent
This is to be good, great and joyous, beautiful and free
This is a lone life
Joy--empire--victory

A very old quote, but look between the lines--from YOUR perspective....

"Re-examine all that you have been told... dismiss that which insults your soul." - Walt Whitman"

It's kind of like what my father used to say.. don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you read.

Today, there is so much misinformation and falsehoods disguised as truth, that ultimately you have stop, step outside of the crowded spaces and ask, 'just what is it that I believe? What does not sit well with me?' Sometimes, you just have to go with your gut.

Peace
