so there is a guy i like. we are not friends. i know him cuz he sometime volunteered in the tutoring center. he helped me a couple times and i think he is really cute! so my birthday is coming very soon. so what im going to do is to give him a suprise hug on my b-day(in the back, i am not bold enough to give him a face to face hug, i dont want him push me away lol)
do i sound silly? if u are a guy, and a girl give u a surprise hug from the back, how would u react? would you hate a girl doing that if that girl is someone u have no feeling with?
I hope that we could hang out in the future. do u think what i am doing is practical?

no sneak attack hugs!!! it might be easier for you, but it's very awkward for the person you're hugging - mainly because there's nothing he can do but stand there. he can't hug you back, unless his arms are broken and he dislocates his shoulders. It also makes him feel a bit helpless and vulnerable. When a guy is attacked from the back, his instinct is to fight - like flip the person over his shoulder and pound their face in.
A running full frontal attack is no good either. A guy's natural reaction to a frontal attack is to defend his position, either with a roundhouse kick or a counter-attack. You'll get hurt.
The best approach is a slow walk from the front, keeping eye contact the entire time, and a nice smile. No man who can call himself a man can resist a woman slowly walking towards him with a smile. Then a nice comforting hug, not too tight or not too cold fish, and make sure you press your breasts against his chest so he can feel them. Make sure to not wear too much perfume either or he won't be able to breathe.
Keep your femininity and your wits about you, and remember guys like girls because they're opposite of guys - girls smell nice, they're comforting, and they bring a sense of calmness. Use those to your advantage.

Who cares, if you give a guy a hug! I always give the guys hugs, I give everyone hugs! I even gave the guy I like a kiss on the cheek!!It not a big deal, if its a hug or a kiss on the cheek....they dont care. Yes, you do sound silly...I am girl, but I just saw the hug part...and I like giving hugs

I agree with what has already been said about being startled by someone hugging you from behind. What you could do is simply say: "It's my birthday! Will anyone have a hug with me?" and look right at him as you say it. If he has anything about him, he should have a hug with you. If not, someone else might surprise you...

if a girl hugged me and i knew her id probably turn around and hug her back if i liked her id i might bend down and kiss her then again I'm bolder then most but if u can try to do it from the front if u have to close ur eyes it might be easier let me know if that helped

It's common-place for me to hug those I know well. Children and elderly get my hugs no matter what.

It depends if I know or knew them from the past or what they say. alot of women hug guys as a "greeting"/ "saying hi"/ or a "friendly hug". If I didn't know or remember them, maybe they knew me from the past & are happy to see me again. If I don't recognize them from anywhere & they hug me & go: "I like you, you're cute, what's your name?" then I'd be a little nervous in what I should say & do.
