I'm not saying I do or do not but just wondering who does and who doesn't.

I actually am A teen too, i am just wondering because i keep thinking most adults on here think all teens are wicked lazy and all they do is watch TV. I play sports and get good grades but I know people that are terrible and sit on there butts all day.

I do. almost every teen I know sits on the couch playing video games or watching tv all the time. I prefer to be out side mountain climbing, mountain biking, running, or playing tennis. other than my older brother I do not have any Friends to do things with because all they want to do is play their stupid video games.

PS. I am 17 and in college and high school at the same time. I started college 2 years early.

I think this is a very good question! It realy depends on the teen....I can tell you i'm the mom of 3 teens...ok well two are now 20 and 21 but whatever i watched them through their teens.

Let me tell ya my teens where not/are not lazy by any means....my son became a father at 16 and recently turned 18...he has pretty much been a single father for the past 15 months! he takes wonderful care of his baby girl with the support of his family. my girls both worked all through high school one finished in the top 15 of her class...she didn't think that was a big deal but she actually did it in 3 years not 4 due to being out a whole year with illness...she worked very hard and ended up graduating with her class.....now this is where i saw the lazy kid.....the kid who got the scholarship which my girl applied for was so freaking drunk on class nite he could barely walk up and accept it! where do you think that kid is now? college? NO! he's in rehap. there is nothing wrong with good hard work by everyone!
now when i go into a restraunt i'm amazed at the awful service...i've worked in the field when i was young would have been fired for less than i see these people doing. people of ALL ages. guess it just comes down to what a child is taught and more imporantly the example that we as parents set...it's what kids see not what we tell them.

I don't generalize entire groups of people. There are lazy teens and lazy adults, too.

There is a fact, though, that when growing a teen requires more sleep. And I don't know, I did try to avoid work sometimes when I was a teen, because I still was more self centered and didn't have as much responsibility.

I never really thought of myself as lazy when I was a teen. I do know that I would do anything in my power just to avoid my parents whether it meant staying in my room all day or hanging with friends. I don't consider teens lazy, maybe confused and bored. Your teen years can be the best or worse years of your life. It depends on what you make of them.

I think most teens are lazy. But more than lazy, I think they're the other kind of spoiled. Not the kind like Lori. The bad kind.

Someone I know was arranging a graduation trip to Disneyland for her class. The trip got cancelled because the kids all got upset that they had to carpool when the school refused to buy buses, and also because the kids didn't want to go on a weekend. They said that they didn't want to go unless the school was willing to let them out of school for a day. And this is what she told me a close guy friend of hers--who turned out to be a jerk--told her:

"Ya, I was thinking about going, but I figured, why waste my weekend? They need to take us out of school."

Is this ?#$% spoiled or what??

So yes, lazy, but more so, spoiled. In the bad way.

Would YOU want to go to Disneyland??

Of course, some are. However, most teens are growing fast and need more sleep than adults. That is why they have the reputation of being lazy.

Laziness is a characteristic which is evident depending on the personality of the person...
If the person is active and useful around the place, they wouldn't be lazy but if they are couch potatoes and don't like to help around or be active, they are marked LAZY!!!
Either way, it is the person him/her self who has to decide what they want to do... And then, only then comes the label of LAZY... otherwise you'd be good...
