I'm going to purchase a small 1,500 LB pop up camper. I need to tow it about 15 miles to my home. I live in flat Florida. I think this model (which I am not completely familiar with). Is there any danger of towing a model that has electric breaks without them 'hooked up'?

My pop-up weighs about the same & never had brakes. I pull it with a 4x4 ford ranger without any problems. (just allow more stopping distance)
It won't hurt the trailer brakes to tow it without them hooked up.

Most people don't have any kind of brakes on a trailer that small. It will take a little longer to stop. There should be a battery and a switch that automatically activates the brakes if you lose the trailer as long as you hook the pull wire from the switch to your vehicle.

congrads on the new trailer.if your towing with a truck or larger suv should be ok.wouldn't do it with a small car.also ck FL. state law may require brakes for all trailers.
