I don't think they should be taken off the air. I'm totally opposed to censorship. However, it sure would be nice if all the morons who participate in and watch reality shows would develop higher standards or more sophisticated tastes and pasttimes.
If there was no one to play the clown or dramaqueen in front of the camera, and no gibbering idiots tuning in to play voyeur, then there would be no ratings or advertising revenue, and reality TV would die the death it deserves.
The way things are going, we are not far from shows like the one portrayed in "The Running Man". It's just a matter of time. As long as there are pigs at the trough, the slop will keep coming.

I like a few reality shows. I still watch Survivor, and the Amazing Race is just great. I also really enjoy America's Next Top Model and I have watched the Surreal Life. With networks like TLC and Life there seems to be no end in sight to 'reality' shows. The networks need to sit back and figure out what is working and what isn't with these shows, and maybe spend a little more time developing the concepts rather than just rushing it out to the public trying to cash in on a phase while it is still hot.

As a rule, I don't care for most of them. I've read articles that say much of the dialog is taken out of context by the editors which makes the person who had the bad fortune to talk come off as looking shallow, stupid or snippy. As long as people are tuning in to watch, these shows will continue. The producers and ad people enjoy making money.

you won't be able to say that each and each and each person 'truth television shows' should be taken off the air, nor are you able to are saying that there are or aren't any more adequate of them. I 'typically don't love' truth shows, yet oftentimes watch 2 of them (ones i imagine are good, it really is). This international (or maybe merely 'this united states,' which for me is the U.S.) is a wide position and has many diverse those with many diverse likes and dislikes. i love it that you'll locate almost each and every 'like' for gazing on television (with cable, besides) even even with the truth that I 'heavily disapprove' of maximum of what i understand is on, and imagine that many shows quite might want to no longer be aired because they 'promote undesirable values' in human beings.

Well I think they should take off some of them like Road Rules, My Super Sweet 16. I like to watch Exposed and Next. You can have a big laugh out of them.
