LOL, cute question. I'm one of the weirdos. I've never thought to store it the other way. The flat side has this metal thingy that pulls out to put the iron on. It seems like a good part to rest the iron on when storing. Plus I think it would be awkward to open if the pointy end were on the ground. I'll have to try it sometime and see if it's better. Get your kicks where you can, ya know? I can't believe I'm putting this much thought into it now!

I think I put it away point end up. No no one in my village can count to 6 on one hand.

Point end down of course it's the way it folds so it's easier.If it bugs you that your wife does it wrong why don't you do the ironing then you can fold it any way you like.
