then go back to bed for the night? She's been doing this for about a week now.
She's 15. I'm positive she's not into drugs and she doesn't exhibit any depressed behaviors (aside from the sleeping). She's getting a total of about 14.5 hours of sleep per night now.

She's a really good kid - not into drinking, drugs, pre-marital sex--anything like that, and we have great communication. She and I are very good friends.

What does she do on the weekends? Does she sleep all day on the weekends too? You know, sometimes it was very hard for me to talk with my mom about anything that was wrong in my life when I was a teenager because she was very accusing and judgemental. I remember always being tired, but I never came home from school and just wanted to sleep all day long.
You should take her out somewhere, for no special reason other than to talk to her about life (don't let her in that you want to talk though, just start talking to her). Tell her some things about you she may not know, share your opinions about issues in the world, and maybe she'll open up to you. Ask her what her opinion is on various things and speak to her like you'd speak to a friend, or ask her if she would like to do something with you, like plant some flowers or something.
These are all ways to help build communication with your daughter. The better relationship you have with your daughter, the more likely she is to fill you in on if she's just been so drained at school lately, or if she's had a few bad days.

That could be normal if she is heavily into sports or activities. I slept like that when I was a teen but then again I woke up at 5:15 every morning for practice before school and I stayed after school most days till 5 or 6 for activities so yeah I was beat. If that is not the case and it's not drugs, you should take her to the doctor in case it's a symptom of something more serious.

I'm depressed and I do that sometimes but not all the time. But really you have no idea how many teenagers do that, a lot of us just like sleep! When I'm not in sports I go home and I tend to fall asleep so I don't have to think. She may be pregnant, do you know if she is sexually active. If she is please approach the situation rationally, if she is sexually active and not pregnant then get her on some birth control. Being safe is never a bad thing, don't forget condoms too. I'm on birth control but I'm not sexually active though. But soemtmes this can be serious, ask her and then take her to a doctor if your so worried. I'm sure she will be fine

It could be normal, but my guess is no. It's possible she's hit a growth spurt and just needs more sleep, but I don't think it would last this long. It's also possible she's getting up at night after you go to bed--does she have a computer in her room?
Have you asked her if she's feeling ok?
If she honestly is sleeping that much, I'd take her to the dr. Either something is physically wrong (any chance she's pregnant?) or maybe she's depressed. I'd give her a chance to talk to the dr. without you in the room, too, just in case something is going on but she's afraid to tell you. It's more important to make her better than for you to know specifics right away.

If I take a nap I in lots of circumstances have an early dinner and then lay down around 5 for 2 hours. Or on occasion i bypass to mattress at 7 after my extensive-unfold dinnertime, arise at 9 and not sleep slightly previous due. After my nap I take a bath and grant myself a facial, then drink a tall glass of chilly water. That facilitates me sparkling up.

I think this is somewhat normal, I know when I was at school I would come home and have a nap and be up in time for dinner, I was exhausted from waking up so early. But 14.5 hours seems quite a lot, have you asked about her constant tiredness? I know this is a sign of diabetes.

Oh man, this is my life right here. There is the possiblity that she has hit a growth spurt, and needs the extra sleep.
Do not get angry at her, my parents do that to me and it gets me so depressed. Are you sure that she is sleeping at night? If so is she sleeping properly. With me, I have trouble sleeping at night, so I fall alseep after school. My parents think that I'm sleeping for 15+ hours, but that's not the case. Maybe she is just trying to catch up on sleep. Maybe she should get involved with after school things that will prevent her from sleeping after school.
Talk to her about it, this is VERY important

As a teen I had an eating disorder, drug problem, drinking problem and severe depression.
I didn't sleep like that until I was an adult and I got pregnant.
I would take her to see the doctor or make sure she isn't sneaking out at night.

My kids slept a lot at that age. I think the long days at school must be very exhausting. Mine used to get on the bus at 6:45 and not return home until after 4PM, and sometimes not until the late run at 6PM! Also, sometimes girls of that age have very heavy periods, and that can add to their tiredness. Believe me, I know, a mother's worries never end!

It could be that a growth spurt is causing fatigue, or could she be not sleeping when you think she is? Maybe she's not sneaking out at night or anything, but I used to procrastinate with my homework a lot at that age, and would be up until 2 o'clock in the morning sometimes trying to finish.
