befor the icc changed the straitening law for bowling from 11degrees to 15 murili used to bend his arm up to 14 degrees
while bowling so should all his wickets befor the law change be taken from him.
i only ask because alot of sri lankans are saying gillchrist should have his world cup 149 taken away because he was cheating by puting a squash ball in his glove.
if this applies to gilly should the same not apply to murili ?

The question raises an interesting point. The rules WERE changed to accomodate Murili's action. Before that there was much discussion as to whether his action was legal or not.

His record against Australia is poorer than his overall average by the way. Australia actually is one of the most successful teams against him. Then again, they dominate almost everyone.

And to Baulty......who seems to think Warne's action is illegal. Congratualtions on being the only person in teh world to think that...never let it be said you don't have a unique mind........bahahahaha.

If we apply the perverted logic of some SL fans then of course! He ACTUALLY BROKE the LAW until it was CHANGED TO SUIT HIM!!!! No questions were ever asked concerning the ONLY legitimate KING of SPIN WARNE! Questions should be asked as to why the law was changed to Murali's benefit? MONEY?Bribery? Corruption?
So YES ALL those so called wickets should be null and void, if these stupidities (squash ball, illegal action) are to be given equal footing and credence!

I agree with you. I'm not Aussie but there's no rule about squash balls in gloves and it's not the same as tampering a ball or chucking.

As for the person above --- did u say Aussies can't play Murali? Who won the 2007 WC and the 2003 semis against SL???? They did play Murali...

SPOT ON Shannon, unfortunately mate some of the S.L fans on this cricket forum are so one eyed they'll never recognise or accept this, they will just carry on with their usual repertoire about how we bribed the officials or how Gilly had a squash ball and that we are big cheaters blah blah, don't sweat it because we are the world CHAMPIONS!

As long as Murali's bowling has not been termed as illegal by ICC, why one should bother about his bowling action. He has been cleared by ICC on couple of occasions and as suchj it is not at all fair to cast a suspicision on his bowling action at this stage.

Murali a cheater? In what a way. Please remember that the arm bending or straightening law was changed to 15 degrees conveniently to include Shane Warne also, whose action was largely dubious and nobody talks about it.
