How did it feel?

I may be strange, but I don't know if there are, in reality, the feelings and emotions that are so readily associated with true love. I have never experienced anything like that. I love many people but have never felt that "special~ would die without you" feeling. Have you felt this or is it just another Hollywood fiction?

Oh no, Dearest, it's not Hollywood. I was just a few weeks after my 18th birthday when I met Truckinotter. she was a friend of a mutual friend and it was literally love at first site, although we didn't both rush right up to each other and start kissing. We did, however, move dorm rooms within the week and it was all pleasently downhill from there.
We found out each of us had a good friend in HS that looked like the other and it was uncanny how much the both of us were alike. We liked the same music, the same films (not the same food though) She dropped out of college and we both prompty ran up 300 $$ phone bills. then I dropped out of college and moved in with her.
We handfasted three years later but count our anniversary from the date we first (blush)... um.... never mind..... you get the idea. It'll be 27 years in October and I still think of the song "I love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow....." That about sums it up.
No, it's not all Hollywood, Dearest. It's real.
Love you (Mwah) -- Mom

I've felt it but I guess none of them were my 'true love' since I'm single now. I've had that 'die without you feeling' but I now think it was mostly in my head and that I was just obsessive or something. I've had 5 serious, long term relationships where I wanted to be with the person 'forever'. None of them worked out and I assume I'll meet someone again (I'm only 29). I have a feeling it's Hollywood fiction unfortunately. Real 'true love' is not as glamorous as it is on TV. It's work and if you can't hold up your end of the bargain, the relationship falls apart.

I still have feelings for 4 of my ex-boyfriends. They are feelings of varying degrees of love but I guess they weren't right for me.

33 yrs old. Never had any of those feelings either until now. I never believed in soul mates, or that one special person for everyone. I can't imagine spending a moment of my life with out my wonderful wife being a part of it, I have never felt that way before now and don't know that I ever could again for/ with anyone else if she were gone.

I haven't yet. I've never believed in the soulmate, happy-ever-after hollywood thing either.
I'm like you, I love many people, some of them dearly, but I've never felt any deep connection with anyone. I always thought it was just me.

I had true love for my kids, I mean I had crushes on them soon as they were born, and still do, but
I'd have to say 36, because I totally fell in love with a person, was in love for the 3 years we were together, and am still in love 2 years later after their visa ran out and they had to go back to China.
Yes, you will get there, and it's every bit as powerful as in the movies!
You love them so desperately your teeth hurt, and every time you get near them you just want to eat them alive.

i replaced into 25. i in my opinion think of those infants that are 15, sixteen or maybe 17 and 18 who say they are in love are so full of crap. It takes so plenty greater adulthood to truly love somebody than I see from those youngsters

I met her when I was 22. It's not always LOVE...some times it's I love you, but currently I don't like you..lol..
I've been in love before, but when it's right...you can walk into a club together...seperate..talk to different people..flirt..then met back up and go home together...For me and my girl that's how it is...
We just mesh and can communicate and understand...you just know...
