how many amendments are there in the bill of rights?

Either ten or eleven. For 201 years it was the first ten. Then in 1992 the 27th Amendment which was originally submitted to the states in 1791 with the first ten was finally ratified. Some things just take a while!

27 amendments, but only the first 10 make up the bill of rights.
