I like Sen Thompson. Even though he was not my Senator he sent me the transcripts from the illegal campaign contributions hearings when CNN would only broadcast the democrats testimony. I hope he runs for President. He has my vote.

I don't actually think any liberals are afraid of Fred Thompson. I sure as hell am not. Realistically, any change in leadership would be good for the country. What I find funny is how Fred Thompson is the best the Republican party can do. I am 100% sure Conservatives are more afraid of Hillary than Liberals are afraid of Thompson. In all actuality, the only Republicans who scare me are those who say, "God talks to them", and who don't believe in "checks and balances", "evolution", or "global warming".

thompson is a one trick pony. the only reason he is getting any attention at all is the dismal candidates who are currently in the lead. the republican base is getting frantic with no champion in sight. and none of the front runners have a strategist as skilled as rove to guide their efforts. thompson will be last years news by July.

I'm not a liberal, but I'm voting Democratic, so I'll answer. No, it's hard to be afraid of someone who hasn't declared for the Presidency yet and who most people know little about other than that's he far right wing. I've noticed that there are a lot of conservatives saying they hope he'll run because the current choices are less than ideal. But I've yet to see one person that supports him, at least on this site, list any of the things he stands for, or talk about any of his stands on the issues. Why is that? Is it because they don't know much about him but they are that desperate that they back someone they don't have any facts about? Or are they just shy about listing his attributes and accomplishments past saying the way too general "he's a right winger and that's got my vote?" I'm still waiting for details about the guy, all I'm seeing is a bunch of generalizations. If I was voting Republican and I was ready to back this guy I'd have some concrete ammunition about what he stands for. I support Hillary and I can tell you about her stand on everything. When I tout her in this forum I back it up with facts about what she stands for. What can you tell me about this guy if you think he's the one? Seriously, I'm curious and waiting for someone to step up and say exactly why they support him.

Liberals aren't the ones who run around scared. It s the neocons who do that--proven by their eagerness to surrender their freedom and destroy what our forfather's built in exchange for Bush's so-called security.
As for Thompson, what's there to be scared of.? He is nothing but a pathetic actor.

Thompson has more political experience than obama that is for sure. Even though he is an actor he at least earned money the honest way.
