It was about two kids and a group of leprachauns(?) that lived in tree's - its from the late sixties, early seventies. Seems that they lived w/ their grandfather who is very rich and possibly the kids are trying to save them. I loved this movie as a kid, but don't remember the name. I thought it might be a disney movie but can't find it.

It's called "The Gnome-Mobile" (1967).
I watched this when I was little. It starred Walter Brennan, Karen Dotrice, and Matthew Garber.

Darby o'Gill and the little people... the kids grandad owes a logging company that is chopping down the forest where the little people live. im sure this is the film your looking for.
