YO... sure that's the way we talk.. "Yo" is also often interchangeable with the word "hey," as in "Yo, what's up?" or, "Yo! Wait for me!" or, "Yo, it's me, Smith in the hood, yo!" or, "Yo! pass me the coke!" or, "yo! homie!", or Yo what is like chillin!". While it can stand alone as a greeting, like the word "hey", it has a wide range of other meanings that depend on the tone, context, and situation..☺

Yo can be interpreted as anything if it is way of a friendly greeting..exp..
meeting an old friend on the street Yo Yo Yo , how have you been doing?
agreeing with someone entirely about a discussion you are having .... Yo Yo Yo ... I hear you and agree about that friend!
or basically anything to do with a person in the yourself kind of thing.... the famous... Yo momma is one of them.. hehehe

Do not put that on any resume.
Also it depends what language we're talking about.
It is the equivalent if it's just in english, but you're gonna sound like a wanksta (wannabe gangster) if you say that.
In spanish, yo means I
like "yo tengo dos dolares" means "I have two dollars"

Yo is just a slang word. people say yo in almost every sentence they speak. Some say "hey yo", though now a days that doesn't sound right.
