I had a landlady that would come into my apartment and go through my drawers, rearrange things and just snoop. My husband caught her but I knew before he did because I would vacuum the rug before I left and come back to her footprints.

Yes. They ask questions like a cop (or gossip reporter). Rapid-fire, and look suprised if they offend, or if the interrogated refuses to answer. Where in the world did we (as a society) get the idea we have a right to know ANYTHING about someone else they have not chosen to volunteer? Even employers have rules they must adhere to, some questions being deemed out-of-bounds, even if you are going to PAY someone! When did we decide we HAVE TO know everything??! And-flip side- when did we stop LISTENING?? Not just to the answer to the question we just asked (that's rude enough) but to ANYTHING someone else is saying?? We don't even just wait impatiently for the other person to finish speaking! We just start talking, whether or not we interupt is not even a cause for pause, no less an apology!Arrgh! (And if the press uses "the public has a right to know..." ONE MORE TIME.....The public DOES NOT! have a right to know! And even if the public DOES, THIS public does not WANT to know!! Geez! Don't I have a right to be UNiformed about the details of someone else's life? I insist. All of the above is "present company excepted", of course. No one here at Answers would be so unmannered. I mean "other people", natch! }:>

I am nosey. I am so nosey that I look out the peep hole or window at every noise I hear. Even birds chirping. I want to know what they're doing.

Yeah. They are so nosy that they'll call off of work if necessary to find out the latest dirt.
