Don Mattingly and Travis Hafner have both hit 6 in a single season.
Mattingly did it in 1987, Hafner did it in 06.
Oddly enough, the 6 grandslams Mattingly hit in 87 are his only grand slams in his 14 years in the majors.
Lou Gehrig hit 23 grand slams over his career, the most by a player.
Cleveland and Oakland hold the record for most by a team in a single season with 14 per team.
Fernando Tatis not only hit two grand slams in one day, and not only in one game, but he did it in the same inning. The only man to do so.
Jim Palmer, in his entire ML career never gave up a grand slam.
Tony Cloninger may have been one of only 11 players in ML history to hit two Grand Slams in one game, but he is the only pticher to do it.
Sorry, I dont remember the dates for some of these events, but I love baseball and the grand slam is one of my favorite stats that I follow.
*ADDED
Speaking of, 5 of Fernando Tatis' 6 were before the allstar break. Shame he didnt keep on a fairly steady pace cause ven with being out most of Sept he would have had 8 or 9.

Six, by Hafner (2006) and Mattingly (1987). Those six were the only slams of Donnie's career. Hafner missed almost all of September 2006 with a hand or wrist injury, otherwise he might have had a chance to break the tie and stand alone. Ah well.
NL record is five by Banks (1955).
Career record, Gehrig with 23.
Active leader, Ramirez with 20. He could take down Lou yet. I'd love to see it; it's such a tiny number yet has stood for almost 70 years, and records are made to be broken.

Travis Hafner and Don Mattingly each had 6 in one year Lou Gehrig has the most for his career with robin ventura right behind him. Fernando Tatis not only hit two in one inning he did it off the same pitcher, which is amazing that the dodgers manager left the same guy in to load the bases twice and give up two salami's
