I would not state a kidney problem, might be a bladder infection or associated tube. Again it depends on the problem if they are just getting up during the night, they should think about what they are drinking. Drink loads in the morning, start to taper off in the afternoon and not so many drinks in the evening.

It's according to just what their problem is. Older adult men and women often have over active bladder problems and have to get up all hours of the night. But this isn't usually a problem with younger adults. In a male it could be a enlarged prostate problem. It most likely would be bladder problem than a kidney problem. But the only one qualified to answer this question would be a qualified doctor,
