I did this topic on my Science Fair project to, anyways well what happen is the plant start growing on the first week but then on the 2rd week the plants leaves were getting yellowish then at the middle of the 2rd week the leaves died at the 3rt week the plant was death. This happens because the salt block the plant from getting sunlight and then the soil starts to dried up.

Obviously, it kills plants. I'm not sure if this is for plants as well, but I remember reading that to humans, too much salt makes the cells take in more and more water, and the cells burst.

I'm not sure what it does specifically, but you might want to use the project to answer the question by watering sets of one or more plants with different concentrations of salt water with the control group consisting of plants watered with tap water or distilled water.
