Was Guns and Roses one of the greatest bands of all time? With the exception of Axle or course.

Ok... first of all, you cant exclude Axl b'cuz if you do... then there's no band to be talking about
Second... I think they were one of the greatest metal/hard rock bands of the late 80's - early 90's and some of their songs are considered classic but when you say "one of the greatest bands of all time"... that's an extremely broad area so it's really hard to say yes or no

No they were one of the greatest bands at the time they were playing sound wise yet the chemistry of that band was so volitile that is was only a matter of time before they imploded and they short changed to many fans by walking off stages or not even going on in the 1st place to be considered one of the greatest bands of alll times.They are not the beatles or led zepplin or pink floyd or well you see what i mean there are alot more deserving bands for that title

You forget, SillySally, that it was Axle that screwed up the band.
I think I just love Slash out of Guns N' Roses, they're a great band, but there are more bands that I love more (ie. Nirvana, AC/DC and Red Hot Chili Peppers)

They are one of the best hard rock bands, but I don't know why you would want to except Axel. That band wouldn't have even made a blip on the radar when they first started out if it wasn't for their dynamic (and splendidly imperfect) frontman. Wow. I should write reviews or something! LOL
