Was it Arpanet?? im not sure, please help me.

I think Arpanet was about the first version. I first used "usenet" in 1994 or 1995. I was using "Compuserve" for an ISP when the World Wide Web came along and nobody really knew what it was or how to use it. I remember I experimented for nearly a week before I finally got logged into the Web and it took another week before I understood what was going on.

WOW... that was 12 years ago... that is before many of the users on YA were even BORN.!

My, how times have changed. When I first became involved with Computers it was the Rand 360 and at that time, there were some very SMART people sitting at DUMB terminals... today, it is just the opposite. 8-)

Yep, you're correct, it was the Arpanet - the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET) of the U.S. Department of Defense.
