~It depends on a lot of different things, who is doing it, the method, etc. You hear of people being killed that have died instantly, so I suppose some suicides could be painless. Obviously, the quicker the better. If a person has decided to commit suicide, there is a reason to carry on, that person could change their mind. The saying goes, don't make a permanent decision about a temporary situation. I too think it would take courage to take your own life. "Crazy" is the word some answer's used. Not just the mentally ill take their own lives. Heaven forbid they would ever suffer from depression or anxiety and take medication, and that would classify them as "crazy."~

There are some ways to commit suicide painlessly, but these kinds of questions always send a signal. While the individual may not feel the pain, it leaves a much greater pain for the family and friends of the person that did it. Someone may want to kill themselves because they don't feel loved or feel alone, but that is never the truth. Someone loves you. God loves you and while I don't even know you, I love you. Would you take away from me the possibility of maybe the best friend I ever had? That would be very selfish. I wouldn't want to miss a friendship like that.

No, its not painless. Its very painful for everyone involved. The person commiting suicide is in a lot of pain emotionally, and the people that are left behind are in pain because they feel they couldn't help the person they love...

I think it depends on the method one uses to commit suicide. My grandfather hung himself when I was a teenager, (he had blood cancer). The coroner said he probably had a few minutes of pain before he died. The pain that stings the most is that of the family members left behind.

No. I think no matter how you do it, you're going to know what's happening and feel it. If you're really thinking about it, talk to a friend or someone you trust first. Or just call a hotline, there are hundreds of completely free completely confidential ones out there.

It depends how you kill yourself. You can take an overdose, fall asleep and not know or feel a thing. You can shoot yourself in the head, feel something and then die..
