i know it's the hormones and some other chemical thing but can you provide a more detailed explanation - is it the way the person smells or what. thanx!

Dopamine - Also activated by cocaine and nicotine

Norepinephrine - Otherwise known as adrenalin. Starts us sweating and gets the heart racing


Serotonin - One of love's most important chemicals and one that may actually send us temporarily insane

I guess you are looking beyond the species propagation theory. Yes, we have pheromones. But, it still triggers the chemicals in the brain.
