It's really all just in your perception. It can be said that every single historical document on this planet, every record, every "important" achievement is also trivial, since eventually everything within our sun's light radius will one day cease to exist. You shouldn't ask why everything is so trivial... unfortunately our minds have a tendency to want answers, and we're not satisfied until we have one, so if you ask why everything is so trivial, you won't stop until you get an answer, even if it's not true. The key is not to ask why its trivial. You should instead ask, how can I take joy in seemingly trivial things? Myself for example, I see a bug on a window, and I think of how far that bug must have come, how many flowers it must have seen, stuff like that. We only get one life. You can spend it thinking it doesn't matter, or you can look at it with wonder and amazement and enjoy it for the miracle it is.

Not everything is trivial, of course .. but if you are feeling depressed then things will seem more this way as you are more focused on yourself and the "heavier" type issues. If you find yourself regularly feeling that things are trivial then you may need to obtain some advice/counselling. All the best.

Trivial or significant, everything is mere illusion.... they appear to be trivial in one context and overbearing in another. It is all in the mind, which is highly dynamic and sensitive to circumstances and situations.

Even if everything is trivial, why should it bother us? Is it that we think too high of ourselves and when we find there is nothing significant to deal with, we get disappointed?

Nothing is trivial...it just seems like it to you at this point in time.
Everything is part of something that makes up something so it all has meaning.

because our brains are too small to comprehend actual 'big pictures'

it's an ever haunting feeling when you find yourself realizing that you're never gonna know anything for sure......you can think yourself in 20 circles and still end up with" ah heck just make the best of it, look on the bright side...etc..."

Faith is so vital because once you get to the end of your little rope (train of thought) you can chalk your inkling up to the universe and have some down time........

Point is don't stop til the end, I *think* there may be an eternal reward for those who don't give up!

Because that's exactly how it is here. Meaning, we perceive reality through its opposites. Table of Opposites. Thank you Pythagoras...lol

We have to deal with Duality and transcend it by realizing that:
Life is really very simple, but we insist on making it complicated. Thank you Confucius....lol

It goes on and on....Your turn.

Good luck!

Can you be more specific? Are you asking why knowledge is simply knowledge and that nothing about it has anything to do with happiness? Are you asking why people seem to care so much about things that you think are unimportant?

Let us know.
