Ain't that something...I'm just going through the exact same ....
I would just hug, say I'll miss you maybe, be genuine a little fake maybe lol and let it go. I didn't do any of that, which was really weird, he left, and I thought I was in love, must have been a simple crush or something otherwise I would have been dragging behind him clutched to his ankles. Funny how thinks work out. Eitherway I'm sure your person meant something at some point whether relationship or friendship wise, so say a goodbye with the feelings you remember the best the good times feelings, the time that person did seem to mean more. Just give them a hug and say bye. Tell them you hope they have a nice life and good luck in their future. You can still be nice even though you don't feel the same way about them as you once did.

That depends. If you think they could be of use to you in the future, or if they're wealthy and you think you might be in their will, pretend you adore them and will miss them terribly, even though you won't. Otherwise, don't even give them the courtesy of a "goodbye."
