Once in a great while he will call and say "Not gonna be home. not sure when I will be home, need some time to myself." Then he gets home whenever he gets home..
If it were a common occurance it would be a problem but 5-6 times in our entire 10.5 year marriage it's ok we all need space to ourselves once in a while..
With my husbands job (Correctional Officer) sometimes he needs time to unwind and destress before coming home... Depending on what's happened during his day...
Some of the reasons he has called and not come home because he's needed time to leave work at work... An officer attacked and killed by prisoners, A yard riot (350-400 prisoners on a yard fighting etc.), and other major events...
My husbands job is long periods of nothing happening then short periods of life threatening 0-500 mph chaos.. Sometimes he needs time to come down from the chaos so he can put on his husband/dad hat instead of coming home with his guard hat on...
He doesn't want to be tough and commanding (essential traits to do his job effecentlu and safely) with our children or me so he takes the time to relax and wind down so he can be the loving, gentle, sweet man (Traits that would get him killed in the prison yard) we know and love when he walks in the door..

Pick him up by the seat of his pants and throw him out the door. Make an appointment with a lawyer, and file for divorce. He obviously doesn't care for you or the marriage, so get rid of him.

Give him a taste of his own medicine. Go out and come back when I felt like it and if he dared say a word to me about it, I tell him what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

I would be gone the next day when he got home from work.
that may wake him up and do not come back for awhile and if it do not wake him up get a divorce and find someone who wont do those things, you deserve better.
good luck and keep us updated
